Center for the Study of Islam and Society (Pusat Pengkajian Islam dan Masyarakat) Islamic State University (UIN Jakarta) in collaborate with the Netherlands are going to conduct the project titled Religious Environmentalism Actions: Empowering Young Religious Leaders and Communities toward Achieving Sustainable Environmental Development in Indonesia (REACT), focuses on empowering youth to engage in religious environmentalism actively.
Environment and natural disasters remain critical problems for Indonesia. To address these issues, a comprehensive approach to environmental problems requires an understanding of social dimensions and normative values, including religion which represents a significant normative dimension in people’s lives and may influence their attitudes and behaviour. Additionally, religion plays an increasingly significant role in promoting the environmental movement and affecting public policy globally. As the home for the majority of Muslims, religion plays a vital role in Indonesian society. Therefore, it is essential to examine the relationship between religion and environmentalism as there has been an increasing trend in environmental awareness amongst Muslim leaders and Islamic organization in Indonesia.
This project aims to empower religious young leaders and communities toward achieving sustainable environmental development in Indonesia. The project activities aim to fill the knowledge gap with research on religious environmentalism by examining the role of religious communities and young leaders supported by religious resources, or the environmental movement understood as a religious movement. It also aims to influence stakeholders and policymakers and enhanced young religious leaders to actively engage in religious environmentalism in Indonesia. To support the objectives of the project, we are looking for MONITORING & EVALUATION OFFICER who has extensive knowledge of religious environmentalism issues.

Job Descriptions:
- Maintaining program activities, coordinating with each program coordinator, and program manager.
- Conduct monitoring of each activity, identifying the problem during the implementation of the program and give some advice and corrective actions.
- Complete submission of monthly reports and final reports.
- Maintaining internal report database by coordinating with each project team members on timely and complete submission of documents and reports including Terms of References, Back to Office Report, Monitoring Tool, and others.
- Arrange monitoring plan and regularly updated due to activities timeline and implementation of the program.
- Conduct regular data collection including monitoring form, evaluation form, etc, during internal meetings or activities implemented by program team to identify the progress of activities.
- Maintain a good relationship with internal and external partners to gain their engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in social sciences or any related fields.
- Good knowledge of environmental issues, religious approach to environmental context, environmental awareness, religious environmentalism issues, etc.
- Strong project management skills.
- Having experience in monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of the program for minimum 2 years.
- Analytical skills, critical thinking, and ability to think objectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa.
- Excellent Computer skills in MS office, Excel, and other.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to work both individually and in a team.
- Prior experience and skills doing research, and/or using database programs for data entry, analysis, and reporting is an advantage.
